Cheryl Dumaresq, the Executive Director of Global Engagement at the University of British Columbia (UBC), led a delegation to visit National Taiwan University (NTU) on January 12th. They were warmly received by NTU Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Hsiao-Wei Yuan, and the Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Hung-Dah Su. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the expansion of student and research exchange programs between the two universities.
NTU and UBC have been partner universities for over 30 years. Since 1997, more than 200 students have participated in exchange programs between the two institutions, making UBC the most interacted partner among NTU's 16 partner universities in Canada. As both universities have experimental forests, the collaboration in the field of forestry has been the focal point in recent years. NTU and UBC plan to continue promoting strategic cooperation projects, including summer programs, joint micro-courses in social sciences, and Mandarin learning programs, aiming to nurture outstanding talent in Taiwan and Canada.
Both universities look forward to continuing the dialogue to bring about more diverse and exciting collaborations.
