NTU President Wen-Chang Chen and UiO President Svein Stølen exchanged gifts.
On October 5, 2023, NTU President Wen-Chang Chen (陳文章), Vice President Hsiao-Wei Yuan (袁孝維), Associate Deans of the College of Liberal Arts May-Shine Lin (林美香) and Ya-Feng Wu (吳雅鳳), and the Executive Director for International Affairs, the College of Engineering Hung-Wei Yen (顏鴻威) received University of Oslo (UiO) President Dr. Svein Stølen and Political Advisor Ms. Marianne Knarud.
Through this visit, President Stølen sought to build collaborations with top Taiwanese universities in campus innovation, sustainable development, and other areas. He highlighted indigenous studies, political economics, East Asian studies, Mandarin education, and material science as the core areas of interest for exchanges with NTU.
UiO is the oldest and largest university in Norway and also one of the most reputable institutions in the Scandinavian region. In addition to a historic theology faculty, UiO also operates several museums, including the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Cultural History, and the Museum of the Viking Age. UiO produced seven Nobel laureates, and an impressive list of prominent figures, including the incumbent Norwegian King, Queen, and UN officials, are alumni of UiO.
