On March 25, Karine Samuel, Vice President for International Affairs at University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), along with Profess & Director of the CNRS Institute for Information Sciences Rédouane Borsali, Senior Consultant of SIRIS Academic Center Solange Chavel, and UGA President’s Advisor Martin Oudart visited NTU. The delegation was received by President Wen-Chang Chen (陳文章) and Associate Vice President for International Affairs Jiun-Haw Lee (李君浩). It is worth noting that President Chen was awarded an honorary doctorate from University of Grenoble Alpes in 2022.

During the visit, both parties focused on future collaborations in research and teaching between the two universities, with a particular emphasis on the possibilities for collaboration in the fields of chemistry, materials science, and artificial intelligence. The establishment of a joint seed program was also discussed, with the hope of further promoting teacher and student exchanges.

Following the meeting, Prof. Borsali, Co-Director of the Advanced Research Center for Green Materials Science and Technology, and Associate Director Ru-Jong Jeng (鄭如忠) led the delegation to visit and exchange ideas. The Center hopes to expand its talent cultivation in related fields in the future, and play an important role in deepening inter-school and international connections.

UGA is one of the 10 strategic partner universities of NTU, and President Chen and Director Borsali have been long-term partners who have worked together for many years. Since 2002, the two universities have become partner universities and student exchanges have been stable. This year, UGA also joined the partnership alliance for the NTU International Mentorship Program, which selects students to intern and exchange with top companies through NTU.
