Executive Vice President Chiapei Chou traveled to the UK for academic collaborations in October of 2022. On behalf of NTU, Vice President Chou signed a new agreement with University of Edinburgh (UE) in Scotland and also assisted in confirming the collaborative relationship between NTU and University of St Andrews (UOSA) as both universities officially became partner universities.
During the visit to University of Edinburgh, several future collaborations between NTU and UE has been discussed, including establishing new collaborative programs and jointly providing research seed funds for mutual visits between teachers and researchers from both universities. Future internship programs for exchange students in host university were also brought up for discussion.
NTU has also reached a milestone on the path of making global collaboration. Vice President Chou signed three agreements with UOSA, including a university-level agreement, a student exchange agreement, and an agreement on promoting the Taiwan Huayu BEST Program in both universities. Unlike the general exchange student program, which usually has 2 to 5 students as the annual exchange quota, the agreement between NTU and the UOSA has an expected number of 10 students per year, and both sides have a high willingness and expectation for future collaborations.
