The Digital Learning Center at NTU is committed to promoting the development of digital learning on campus. It has long been running open courses such as the National Taiwan University OpenCourseWare (NTU OCW) and National Taiwan University Massive Open Online Courses x Coursera (NTU MOOC x Coursera). With the effort of the NTU Digital Learning Center, more than 300 courses have been offered in the past decade.

To promote the full use of open learning resources and improve the visibility of the University, NTU extended the NTU MOOC Project to senior high schools in Taiwan in 2020. The University collaborates with the Chenggong High School and Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University in the fall semester of 2020 to tutor sophomores in utilizing NTU MOOC to fill up the flexible learning slot in the new curriculum. So far, NTU has been working with eight high schools, including general high schools, community high schools, and experimental high schools.

The NTU Digital Learning Center is planning on further extending the project to high schools nationwide starting from the academic year 2022-2023, offering students the opportunities to utilize NTU’s open curriculum. A series of courses from NTU OCW and NTU MOOC x Coursera will be offered to high school students as independent electives at the beginning of the fall semester of 2022. Physical and online seminars will be held to help students exchange ideas with professors of popular courses.

As a leading institution of higher education, NTU takes on social responsibility to reduce the gap between urban and rural educational resources. The project not only helps cultivate students’ self-directed learning and problem-solving abilities but also gives them a chance to learn about university courses. The project is expected to assist students in self-exploration and selecting desired departments and career paths in the future.

The NTU MOOC Project for High School Students welcomes all the senior high schools to participate in the project. Go to the website for more details:
