This January, National Taiwan University (NTU) officially partnered with the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) and joined the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan Low Carbon Initiative (ECCT LCI).
NTU is looking forward to cultivate global talent through industry-academia collaboration and innovative educational practices. “We welcome such collaborations with the ECCT,” said President Kuan.

This January, National Taiwan University (NTU) officially partnered with the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) and joined the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan Low Carbon Initiative (ECCT LCI). NTU and ECCT took part in a kick off ceremony on January 20. During the ceremony, NTU President Dr Kuan Chung-Ming管中閔 and ECCT Chairman H. Henry Chang張瀚書 signed a partnership letter of intent to cultivate international talent.
NTU accommodates up to 5800 international students from 84 countries, topping all universities in Taiwan. According to President Kuan, NTU is eager to not only attract global talent, but also cultivate and retain talent. To that end, NTU offers top-tier education resources and comfortable accommodations for international and local students alike. NTU is looking forward to cultivate global talent through industry-academia collaboration and innovative educational practices. “We welcome such collaborations with the ECCT,” said President Kuan. Meanwhile, NTU’s commitment towards a carbon-neutral campus before 2048 is honored with its participation of the ECCT Low Carbon Initiative. Chairman Chang noted that he anticipates closer ties between academia and industry, saying that the ECCT has already partnered with some universities and he believes strong links to NTU will be developed.
Guests of the ceremony include Vice President for International Affairs, Professor Yuan Hsiao-Wei袁孝維, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Ding Shih-Torng丁詩同. Representing the ECCT alongside Chairman Chang are ECCT Vice Chairman Giuseppe Izzo尹容, ECCT CEO Freddie Höglund 何飛逸and LCI Director Sammy Su蘇冬蘭. Many ECCT members were also present. Up to 60 representatives from 30 businesses attended the ceremony, including Bart Linsen黎森, Managing Director of ENERCON Taiwan; Helen Hung洪海倫, Managing Director of Bolloré Logistics Taiwan; Benjamin Lamberg白志堅, CEO of Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Taipei Branch; Marilyn Su蘇小真, CSR & Communication Director Spokesperson of Carrefour Taiwan Foundation; Kelly Kok郭雪貞, CEO of Jane Goodall Institute Taiwan; John Lee李俊隆, Managing Director of Merck Group in Taiwan; Alex Shih, President of Tonglit Logistics Co., Ltd.; Jennifer Wang王秀雲, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland Taiwan. and Tseng Wei-wei曾葳葳, Director of wpd Taiwan Energy Co., Ltd..
Participating guests of the ECCT were invited on stage to sign on the event board. The act embodies the common goal behind the global talent initiation. This project is part of the NTU International Mentorship Program. Thanks to the vast corporate connections of ECCT, 24 members of the chamber has committed to offering internships to international students at NTU.
