Congratulations to Dr. Shu-Chiung Liu (劉淑瓊), Associate Professor of NTU’s Department of Social Work, for being awarded the 6th Purple Ribbon Award by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Purple Ribbon Award was established to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the prevention of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, as well as the protection of children, senior citizens, and the physically and mentally challenged. Dr. Liu has been a dedicated social work professional on government policy and practice relating to domestic violence and child protection. Her advocacies, “Early Prosecutor and Police Intervention for Serious Child Abuse Cases” and “Retrospective Analysis of the Deaths of Children Under Six,” have been officially included in the Protection of Children and Youth Welfare and Rights Act during the amendment process in April 2019. Dr. Liu fully merits the honor and we take pride in sharing this good news.
