NTU EMBA Program welcomed the incoming Class of 2021 at a matriculation ceremony held on December 16, 2018. The event was attended by NTU Interim President Tei-Wei Kuo (郭大維), Executive Vice President for Financial Affairs and Dean of Management Ruey-Shan Guo (郭瑞祥), EMBA CEO Ming-Huei Hsieh (謝明慧), department heads and professors from the College of Management, as well as industry leaders and professionals. The newly matriculated students were excited about starting a brand new adventure at NTU, and the guests expressed joy in seeing this new addition to the big NTU EMBA family.

Interim President Kuo encouraged the students to exercise entrepreneurship, shoulder social responsibility, and pride themselves on being members of NTU. Dean of Management Guo cited the influential management thinker Charles Handy’s warning that any individual or business should embark on a second curve at the peak of the existing curve, or else face the fate of being replaced within 10 years. Dean Guo called on all students to initiate their second curves and create another peak of their careers.

Besides learning, Dean Guo emphasized the importance of fostering new thoughts. He shared with all attendees the WIN strategy: W for “Wow Experience,” I for “Integrated Thinking,” and N for “Network and Platform.” Being an EMBA student at NTU is not only about studying hard, but more importantly, about enriching one’s life experience, putting one’s knowledge into practice, and building connections to create entrepreneurial synergy and value. Likewise, CEO Hsieh congratulated on the students’ bravery to set sail on a voyage of personal growth and self-discovery with NTU EMBA. She also offered dedication, sharing, synergy, and fusion as the four rules of thumb for the students to advance their study at NTU and practice social innovation to change the world.

The 15th Director of the EMBA Student Association, Zhe-Sheng Su (蘇哲生), turned up at the ceremony to introduce the organization and its important activities while calling for active participation. NTU EMBA Alumni Association and Foundation’s Chairman Yuan Wu (吳垣), as well as CEO, deputy CEO, and secretary-general also attended the ceremony to welcome the incoming students, inviting them to enjoy student life at NTU and join the association after graduation for the common goal of furthering social welfare.

After the ceremony, each student wore an EMBA-exclusive scarf and badge to take an ID photo, promoting the brand of NTU EMBA, and later posed for group photos in the College of Management. Afterwards, each class and its mentor began their ice-breaking moments and orientation. With a diversity of backgrounds and expertise, the incoming class is embarking on a brand new journey with NTU EMBA to create a second peak of their careers and implement social innovation together.
