Interim President Kuo was awarded the Pan Wen Yuan Outstanding Research Award.
NTU Interim President Tei-Wei Kuo (郭大維), a distinguished professor of computer science and information engineering at NTU, was awarded the Pan Wen Yuan Foundation Outstanding Research Award on July 4 at Industrial Technology Research Institute. The other winner of this award was Dr. Yung-Fu Chen (陳永富), a professor of electrophysics at National Chiao Tung University.
The Pan Wen Yuan Foundation Outstanding Research Award is awarded annually to recognize 2-3 distinguished ethnic Chinese scholars who specialize in such fields as electronics, information, and communications, with particular focus on theoretical innovation, experimental technology development, manufacturing process improvement, and apparatus manufacture.
At the award presentation ceremony, two Innovation Awards for Young Scholars and four Investigative Research Awards were also awarded to promote the electronics industry in Taiwan and abroad.
