On June 12, the 2018 NTU Undergraduate Thesis Awards were presented by Interim President Tei-Wei Kuo (郭大維) to 23 undergraduate students. This competition was initiated by former President Pan-Chyr Yang (楊泮池) last year to encourage research activities among undergraduate students and prepare them for further studies. As competition organizer, the Office of Academic Affairs is glad to receive increased submissions this year, and expects to see more students take interest in doing research and pursuing further studies at NTU or abroad.

The judges of the competition were impressed by the exceptional research papers submitted by students, applauding them for their efforts and achievements. The awards given were 3 Ssu-Nien Fu Awards, 3 President’s Awards, 12 Dean’s Awards, and 5 Outstanding Awards. The organizer will continue promoting this thesis competition to boost undergraduate research capacity, encourage students to pursue a research career, and facilitate talent development in Taiwan.
