NTU has 20 subjects ranked in Top 50 in the QS Subject Ranking 2018.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based company specializing in education, released the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018 on Feb. 28. Among the five subject areas, NTU is ranked in the world’s Top 50 in Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Management. Of the 48 subjects ranked this year, NTU has 20 subjects in the world’s Top 50, and 34 subjects within the world’s Top 100.
QS started to release the World University Rankings by Subject annually in 2011. This year, the company evaluated 1,130 higher education institutions according to the following metrics: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. In addition, the survey this year included two additional subjects, namely Classics & Ancient History and Library & Information Management.
