NTU SPECS celebrates its 30th anniversary.
NTU’s School of Professional Education and Continuing Studies (NTU SPECS) celebrated its 30th anniversary on September 30, 2017. The then Interim President Ching-Ray Chang (張慶瑞) and many honorable guests were invited to attend the event. As in the previous 30 years, it is expected that NTU SPECS will continue to play an important part in advancing society in the next three decades.
Dean of NTU SPECS, Hsien-Hsing Liao (廖咸興), stated that the school has been dedicated to promoting resource sharing and social responsibility since the 1980s, and it will continue to do so and strive for excellence in the future.
In the "NTU SPECS 30" ceremony, the guests broke the big balloons to release the numerous small ones inside. The rising small balloons symbolized all our students’ dreams, which NTU SPECS will join hands in fulfilling to achieve the common goals of success and excellence.
During the ceremony, the growth and prospects of NTU SPECS were shown in a sand painting video. Two outstanding students in industry were invited to share their experiences of studying at NTU SPECS. In addition, three senior staff members who have worked at NTU SPECS for more than 20 years were honored in the ceremony.
At the end of the event, all the attending colleagues and students sang the theme song of NTU SPECS in chorus. In the future, NTU SPECS will continue to uphold the concept of “open-loop university.” Moreover, it will keep cooperating with excellent faculties at NTU, striving to integrate various teaching and research units across the fields, and developing curricula that meet social needs and impact communities positively.
