The groundbreaking ceremony for the Radiation Science and Proton Therapy (RSPT) Center of National Taiwan University (NTU) Cancer Center was held on June 13, 2017. NTU President Pan-Chyr Yang (楊泮池) and YongLin Health Foundation Founder Terry Guo (郭台銘), who is also the chairperson of Foxconn, looked forward to integrating collaborations related to radiation science and medicine to help treat and prevent various types of cancer.

With the building almost completed, the NTU Cancer Center next to RSPT Center is scheduled to start serving cancer patients by the end of 2018. By using cell therapy and proton therapy technologies to fight cancer while developing personalized precision therapy, NTU Cancer Center aims to be a hospital featuring “Healthcare 4.0” and facilitate the shift of Taiwan’s biomedical technologies and industries toward providing smart services.

Both YongLin and NTU have invested the greatest effort and resources possible to complete Tai Cheng Stem Cell Therapy Center and YongLin Biomedical Engineering Hall. After the completion of NTU Cancer Center and RSPT Center, the southeast campus of NTU is expected to accommodate the world’s top facilities for biomedical research and development in the Greater China region.
